What exists today.
A working vertical slice exists and the foundation is taking shape. Core systems are there, but the experience is still rough.
Combat needs to feel better. Inventory interactions need work. The world needs more atmosphere, mystery, and personality. That's exactly why we're building in public.
The bigger picture.
A persistent online RPG inspired by the danger, discovery, freedom, and player-made stories of old-school multiplayer worlds. We're pushing Astra to see how much a tiny team can build with AI.
Astra is part game and part experiment: how far can a tiny team push a multiplayer RPG using AI as a serious building partner?
We're aiming for a world with places worth remembering. Possessions that matter. Deaths with consequences. Homes players care about. A strange conversation, a hidden hole, or a lever that starts a story nobody expected.
Pushing Astra means making that world worth living in—and making its editor simple enough that non-developers can help build it.
Players who miss the danger, discovery, and player-made stories of old-school online RPGs, and curious builders following what a tiny team can make with AI.
The road to real.
Make combat feel good
Improve responsiveness, impact, enemy behavior, feedback, and the moment-to-moment combat loop.
Make building the world easy
Create an intuitive map editor inspired by classic RPG world editors, so ordinary world building needs no coding or 3D expertise.
Make items matter
Fix inventory interactions, preserve manual looting, support physical dropped items, and make equipment and possessions feel valuable.
Make the world surprising
Build an approachable event system for hidden holes, ambushes, NPC secrets, levers, monster triggers, deliberate chest rewards, and discoverable quests.
Make Astra feel like a place
Push atmosphere, multiplayer persistence, danger, housing, exploration, audio, lighting, and environmental storytelling until the world begins creating its own stories.
The build log.
Pushing the vertical slice
Astra exists. That's the good news.
Now we're pushing on the parts that decide whether it becomes a real world or stays a rough prototype. Combat feel, inventory dragging, manual looting, world atmosphere, and the map-building experience are the current focus.
Pushing Astra means making the world feel better, one real improvement at a time.
People fueling it.
